Guest Hosted Private Metalsmithing Experience

Bee Creative with your friends, family, in a location of your choice. Adding a new twist to the traditional birthday, friends night out or other celebration.  You’ll have fun, while also learning the basics of jewelry making, silversmithing and other creative endeavors. No previous experience is required to participate and designed for ALL skill levels.

When:  Arranged date, with a class duration of 3 - 4 hours

Tuition:  $525 for groups up to 5 participants, + $100 for each additional

$100 only deposit to reserve and will be applied to the remaining balance due on date of class.

Bee Creative with your friends, family, neighbors, or colleagues as a fun team building even by adding a new twist to the traditional birthday gathering, friends night out or other celebration. Make lasting memories, while learning the basics of metal smithing. With a variety of projects and previous experience required, participants leave with completed jewelry items or other projects. 

Workshops are relaxed, easy going with a  fun atmosphere with intentionally small classs size. 

   

Workshops are hosted in your home or other reserved location with your guests or also the Lake Oswego, Bee Creative Classroom. Guest host supply snacks and beverages, we supply all project materials, tools, inspiration and know how. 

Participants receive a 20% discount for the Bee Creative PDX store

NEW! Take me to the Moon:  Create and customize a brass or copper hanging moonphase wall art piece, hang vertical or horizontal and customize with a variety of embelishments and texture. Learn the basics of using a jeweler's saw, forming and texturing.  one 4-hour class for designs from 12-18 inches long, or 2-hour classes for larger wall hanging designs.         

NEW! Hairs to You!  Design and create two hair pins / bun holders using a variety of precious metal while Learn the fundamental techniques and skills of shaping, texture, solder and finish to create beautiful and personalized hair accessories that are both funtional and beautiful.  
Intentions:  "Attention Goes Where Intention Flows" -  Design a one of a kind bespoke talisman necklace, bracelet, ring, earrings or other piece of art as an intention piece for yourself; using precious metals, new and recycled jewelry components, beads and more. Ideal for special occassions, birthday or New Year’s. (choose from a variety of projects   
 
 
 
I Made These! Custom Earring Design workshop, make up to three pairs of earrings using precious metal wire, new and recycled jewelry components, beads and more.  Learn the basics of silversmithing, forming, soldering and filing.  Allow your creativity to guide you.  
Badda Bling Badda Boom:  Make up to three stacking rings or a set of two bangle bracelets , using a variety of precious metal wire:  Sterling Silver, jeweler's brass, pure Copper, and when available, Gold and Rose Gold filled. 
             
Stone Me to My Soul:  Learn the basics of stone setting. Design and create a custom ring or pendant incorporating a select stone embellishment.  Select from a variety of stones and precious metal. All supplies included for rings and pendants. Sterling silver, brass, copper and stainless steel chain's are available and sold separately. 
NEW! Old the New, New: Transform and re-purpose vintage flatware into stunning and unique jewelry pieces and other creative creations.  Choose from a variety of projects or come with your own idea.  Learn to cut, form and sanding to finish, vintage silver plated flatware.  Breathing new life into these timeless treasures.  Bring your own flatware to repurpose or select from our inventory.  
Busy Bee Duo: Make a set to two calming sterling silver fidget rings and a variety of precious metal beads, while learning the basics of metalsmithing, soldering and forming.  
Round and Round: Design and make a wide band spinner fidget ring.  Baada Bling Badda Boom is recommended as a pre-requisite to this class. 

Keep Calm and Don’t Throw it Out: Repair and Reimagine your Favorite Jewelry Pieces.  Great for those pieces collecting dust in your jewelry box, or what about that one earring that you love that has lost it's mate, or an item in need a bit of mending. 

 We'll Bring:

  • My expertise, creativity, and down to earth practicality and sense of humor
  • Safety gear, fire extinguisher, goggles, aprons and first aid kit. (I am Red Cross first aid certified)
  • Tables, Chairs, Canopy (if needed) and all the tools and materials needed for the class 

Safety First:

Protective aprons and safety glasses that fit over existing eyewear are provided, but if you have a pair you prefer, bring those and bring your “readers” or close-range visual support wear if this is something you typically need.  

Face covering/N-95’s are provided to keep you from inhaling dust particles and or fumes that might be generated.

Given we’ll be working with a variety of tools, that could include hot surfaces, open flame torches, hammers and sharps:

  • Hands and nails will potentially get scraped or dinged 
  • You’ll want any loose hair out of your face and pulled back
  • Shirt sleeves that are short or not loose and can be rolled up
  • Closed toed shoes are required

If you have knowingly been exposed to someone with COVID within 7 days of the workshop, or are experiencing any of the typical symptoms, cough, etc. Let the host know,  so we can make choices around attendance and masking preferences.

Preparing your Space:

  • We’ll want a well-ventilated and lit area that can accommodate at least two 8” folding tables and has a flat ground, preferably concrete or wood.  An outdoor covered patio or an open garage space usually is ideal. 
  • If we choose to be outside, it’s best if the area is fully covered from sun and any elements.  I have a pop-up canopy if needed.
  • If it gets windy, we may need to perform certain aspects of the workshop indoors or in a garage out of the elements. 
  • Food and snacks are encouraged, however for certain projects when the making begins, should be moved away from the work areas.  
  • Beverages are ok on the workbench so long as they are in a covered container.
  • Access to water, sink and soap.
  • Plan for me to arrive at least 1 hour before the workshop begins to review the space and get set up. I can generally get packed and on my way within 30-minutes after class.
